My today's source of inspiration for this concentrated thandai syrup recipe is my dear sister and my niece. Well, the good news is that finally my sister shifted in a bigger and better house on Maha Shivaratri. So, this recipe was planned on maha shivaratri as to gift her something homemade, healthy, delicious which is relished, and enjoyed by all..

I believe that the best way to express your love and true feelings is to share something hand made, healthy, nutritious and that suits the mood and feel of the day.

Thandai is an exotic mix of Indian spices, nuts and full fat milk drink mainly prepared during hot summer months. This milk based drink not odays has many health benefits, but also has a cooling effect on our body.

Thandai is a very popular drink in India. It is embedded with the tradition of festival of colors - Holi and Maha Shivaratri. Thandai is a Hindi word, which means very cool and refreshing. It is offered to Lord Shiva and mixed with "bhang" to make an intoxicating drink during the festival of Maha Shivaratri.

    1. Anu, as syrup and thandai mix are nicely cooked, we can easily store this for a longer period. But I feel best is to consume within 6-8 weeks. Ours got finished on the very same day..:) :):) Going to prepare the next batch very soon for thandai matka kulfi. :) Thank you so much Anu.:)
