Bharwan Bhindi (okra) Masala Recipe is a very simple, easy to make, nutritious scrumptious, heavenly delightful, mouth watering and lip smacking recipe of okra which are stuffed and stir fried with Indian spices. This recipe comes under fast to cook and good to eat recipes. This is a wonderful side dish which goes well with daal rice.


Okra is one of the most therapeutic vegetables. It is popular health food as high in fibre content, low in calories and a good source of Vitamin C, A, and B complex vitamins, calcium, and iron. It is an excellent food for diabetic patients. It is also one of the most recommended diet for growing children as considered as very good for brain development, bone health, flawless skin, weight management and has excellent antioxidant property.

◾INGREDIENTS REQUIRED

⚫300 g Bhindi (okra/ladies Finger)
⚫2tbsp cooking oil

◾For stuffing

⚫1tbsp besan (gram flour)
⚫3tbsp coarse coriander powder
⚫1tsp turmeric powder 
⚫⅓tsp hing powder (asafoetida)
⚫4tsp red chilly powder
⚫1tbsp lemon juice or
⚫2tsp dry mango powder (amchur) 
⚫½ tsp sugar
⚫Salt to taste


◾COOKING INSTRUCTION


♨ Wash okra under running water tap, clean and pat dry with a clean kitchen napkin. Trim both the okra ends and vertically slit each into two halves. Don't strike a deep cut, just slit as you can able to see, okra (Bhindi) is free from worm or insects and we can able to stuff masala inside..



♨ Take a mixing bowl, add above mentioned dry ingredients for stuffing. Add lemon juice, 2tbsp water and 1tsp oil .Mix all well, Our stuffing is ready now. The intent of using wet stuffing is that it gets blended well and give amazing taste to this preparation.


♨ Stuff this mixture into the each and every Bhindi.



♨Heat oil in a fry pan over medium heat, add these stuffed bhindis and mix well, stir fry them on high flame for 2-3 minutes,  gently stir in between.


♨ Now cover this with a lid and simmer it for 8-10 minutes, stir occasionally. Every few minutes, turn the Bhindi to allow even cooking on all sides. Cook till okras are soft and tender and turn light gold brown.






♨Serve hot with daal, rice chapattis or naan.





Notes:

When we cover stuffed okra with lid, it leads to cooking faster and moisture is retained.
