Stuffed Bhindi Masala

How to make stuffed okra masala | Tava Bhindi Masala Fry | Bharali Bhindi Masala Recipe | Chana dal stuffed tava bhindi masala fry

Hello Friends,

My today's blog post is super delicious and healthy recipe of Bhindi aka Okra, which are stuffed with roasted and powdered Chana dal, coriander seeds and other Indian spices. Sharing recipe with the stepwise images..

This recipe was created on that day when gram flour was not available in the kitchen. Being a big Bollywood fan.. I truly believe and very much love this phrase - The show must go on... 😆👍 Usually I add gram flour in my stuffed okra preparation, but that day it got replaced with the roasted chana dal and this change was very much noticed and appreciated.... As it actually tasted much better than my earlier bhindi preparations..

Let's get started

☑Recipe details

Preparation time 8-10 min
Cooking time 10-12 min
Servings 4-5

☑Ingredients required

300 grams Bhindi
1 tbsp chana dal
½ tbsp coriander seeds
2-3 tsp red chilly powder
2-3 tsp coriander powder
1tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp amchur powder
1 tsp sugar
Salt to taste
1- 2 tbsp ghee

☑Method

✔Step 1 Mise en place

Bhindi (okra)

◾Wash, dry, trim the ends. Slit lengthwise, but don't cut them into halves.. Just slit so that we can stuff the masala inside..

Dry roasting and grinding of chana dal and coriander seeds-

◾Dry roast Chana dal and coriander seeds till light gold and aromatic. Leave it to cool down and then transfer it into a mixer grinder jar and powder it..

Make stuffing and stuff them into each bhindi

◾Mix all the ingredients and keep it aside until called for. Ingredients combined together are as follows - roasted chana dal and coriander powder, red chilly powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, amchur powder, sugar and salt to taste.. Stuff the above prepared masala in all the bhindis..

✔Step 2 Cooking time

◾Heat ghee in a large flat heavy bottom pan or non stick pan over medium heat. Add stuffed bhindis... stir fry over medium to high flame for a min or two. Continue stirring gently in between. Sprinkle few drops of water over the bhindis, cover the lid and cook on slow flame for 7-10 minutes until done. Don't forget to gently stir up in between. When done, switch off the gas stove ..

◾Transfer the bhindi to a plate, Serve hot..
