Many people throw away radish greens as not sure what to do or how to prepare them. Did you know that radish leaves contain more minerals, vitamins and dietary fiber than the radish itself. This vegetable works great on our digestive system. Radish is considered as roughage which means best detoxifying food and this also help to cure the symptoms of piles very quickly.

It is very simple and easy recipe with simple basic ingredients available in every Indian kitchen. We'll follow pressure cooking for this recipe.. Let's get started...



Recipe details 

  • Preparation time 5-7 minutes 
  • Cooking time 12-15 minutes 
  • Servings 2

Ingredients required 

  • 1 bunch Radish with leaves
  • One medium onion
  • 2 medium tomatoes 
  • 2-3 Garlic cloves
  • 1 small piece ginger
  • 2-3 green chillies or as preferred 
  • 1-2 tbsp cooking oil
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • Salt to taste 


Method 
✅Step 1 Mise en place


◾Radish -  Peeled - roughly chopped - soaked in boiling hot water 




◾Radish leaves - roughly chopped - soak them in hot water along with radish.





◾Onion - peeled - roughly chopped


 

◾Tomato + ginger + garlic + green chilli - wash, peel, roughly chop and coarse grinder.




✅Step 2 Cooking time


◾Heat the oil in a pressure cooker. Add the onions, cook until translucent. 




◾Add ginger, garlic green chilli and tomato paste. Stir fry over medium heat till soft. Cook it for 3-5 minutes. 





◾Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, sugar and salt to taste. Mix it all well. 



◾Drain the water from the radish and radish leaves. Add radish and radish leaves. Mix it all well.




◾Add ½ cup water. 


◾Pass over the pressure cooker with lid. Allow 2-3 whistles and then cook it on slow flame for a min or two or until done.

◾ Serve hot with lachha paratha.
